Design, Delivery, and Installation of a Custom Sportfish Tower for Mikelson Yachts in California

Bausch Towers’ meticulous design, planning and execution exceeds customer expectations

This custom tower and hardtop was designed and fabricated at Bausch headquarters in Stuart, Florida before being packed up and transported cross-country by our team for final installation in San Diego, California.

Thanks to Nick Theios of Mikelson Yachts, this video gives you a great feel for all the coordination required for a custom sportfish tower, including some impressive crane work. Bausch Towers team members spent about a week carefully installing the superstructure on the “In Range” while floating in her slip at Safe Harbor Shelter Island.

Prior to the installation in California, the collaboration with Mikelson began with sharing CAD drawings as well as Tim Bausch flying out to take initial measurements of the boat. Back in Florida, the Bausch team sprang into action on fabricating the tower before cutting it apart for loading on Bausch’s custom-made trailer. Along with the tower piping and hardtop, toolboxes and a welding machine were also carefully packed and secured for the journey, and two additional Bausch team members flew to San Diego to assist in reassembling and installing the tower.

This is just one example of Bausch Tower delivering many custom tower and hardtop projects to customers throughout the U.S. and all around the world. Again, we’d like to thank Mikelson Yachts for the opportunity, as well as sharing this comprehensive video of the project!
